Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Releases Commemorative Postage Stamp in Memory of Sant Malukdas Ji

The Ministry of Communications has released a commemorative postage stamp honouring Sant Malukdas Ji. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia unveiled the stamp during a Sant Samagam event organised in memory of the spiritual figure. The initiative aims to preserve the saint’s legacy of devotion and public service for future generations.

What the stamp commemorates

Sant Malukdas Ji was a devotee of Lord Ram whose teachings extended beyond religious worship to encompassing principles of duty, sacrifice, truth, compassion, justice and social welfare. The Department of Posts released this commemorative stamp as a way to connect his spiritual and philosophical contributions with India’s collective memory.

According to the Union Minister, the stamp’s release holds particular significance as it coincides with the Shri Ram Katha inauguration. Scindia noted that Sant Malukdas Ji did not limit himself to personal devotion but instead transformed Lord Ram’s character into a philosophy of life that he shared with communities across the country.

Why this matters

Commemorative postage stamps serve as official recognition of individuals and movements the government wishes to honour. By issuing this stamp, India’s postal department gives Sant Malukdas Ji’s teachings formal national acknowledgement. The stamp becomes a tangible way for people across generations to connect with his message of compassion, knowledge and human service.

The Union Minister framed this stamp release within India’s broader approach to development, arguing that economic progress and cultural preservation are complementary rather than contradictory goals. He emphasised that meaningful development must place human welfare, character building through education and social commitment at its centre, principles that align with Sant Malukdas Ji’s own life and teachings.
