Why this site exists
The Government of India publishes an enormous amount every single day. Press releases, gazette notifications, scheme guidelines, recruitment notices, bills tabled in Parliament. Almost all of it is public. Almost none of it is readable.
Public and Policy exists to close that gap. We read the official documents, then write down what actually matters: who qualifies, what it pays or provides, which documents you need, when applications close, and where the official link is.
What we cover
- Government jobs — central and state vacancy notifications with eligibility, vacancy counts and closing dates.
- Welfare schemes — central and state schemes with plain-language eligibility and document checklists.
- Scholarships, fellowships and internships — funding and placements for students, researchers and early-career people.
- Bill tracker — where each bill stands, from introduction to presidential assent.
- Laws and acts — short summaries with a link to the full legal text.
- Policy updates — what the ministries announced and what it means in practice.
- Guides — how to file an FIR, file an income tax return, file an RTI, and other everyday processes.
How we work
Every listing points back to the official source: the ministry website, the recruiting body’s notification PDF, myScheme, the National Scholarship Portal, PRS or the Gazette of India. We do not accept payment to feature a scheme, a job or an institution. We never ask you for money to apply for anything, because government applications are either free or charged only by the official portal itself.
What we are not
We are an independent media portal. We are not the government, we are not an agent, we do not process applications, and we cannot influence the outcome of any application. If a page on this site disagrees with the official notification, the official notification is correct. Please tell us so we can fix it.
