The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying has announced its readiness to take part in Special Campaign 6. This follows the department’s participation in Special Campaign 5.0, which ran from October 2 to October 31, 2025, with the broader aim of improving administrative cleanliness and reducing pending work across government offices.
What the Department Achieved
During Special Campaign 5.0, the DAHD successfully completed all targeted outcomes across multiple categories. The department processed all 3 Prime Minister’s Office references, cleared all 5 parliamentary assurances, and handled all 8 state government references. Public grievances proved a significant workload: the department resolved all 214 public complaints and 35 public grievance appeals that were pending.
The department also undertook a major file management exercise. It reviewed 24,645 physical files and removed 22,648 of them from storage, freeing up 5,334 square feet of office space. For digital records, it reviewed 680 e-files and closed 182 of them. The cleanliness drive covered 221 sites across DAHD offices. The department generated Rs. 5,86,973 in revenue through various recovery measures.
The campaign continued through the rest of 2025 and into 2026. Between November 2025 and August 2026, the DAHD disposed of 57 references from Members of Parliament, resolved 2,404 public grievances, and processed 182 public grievance appeals. The department reviewed 82 additional physical files and closed 3,702 out of 3,786 e-files examined. Office scrap disposal generated Rs. 2,15,000, and a further 500 square feet of space was freed.
What This Means for You
If you have filed a grievance with the animal husbandry department or sent a query through your Member of Parliament, these campaigns mean your matter is more likely to receive attention and resolution. The systematic clearing of pending cases and the digitisation of records aim to speed up responses. As the department prepares for Special Campaign 6, it is focusing on maintaining these gains and setting fresh targets for disposal of pending work, which should translate into faster service delivery for citizens seeking assistance on livestock and dairy-related matters.
