The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced preparations for Special Swachchta Campaign 6.0, the next phase of its cleanliness and governance improvement initiative. Building on the completion of over 90 percent of targets under the previous campaign last year, the ministry plans to expand its focus this year.
What the campaign will cover
Special Swachchta Campaign 6.0 will emphasise three main areas. First, it aims to involve more citizens in cleanliness efforts. Second, it will upgrade administrative processes through better digital systems. Third, it will strengthen waste management practices, including electronic waste disposal and programmes that convert waste into useful resources.
The ministry had successfully implemented Special Campaign 5.0 during the previous year, addressing more than 90 percent of its planned targets. These included improving workplace hygiene standards, making better use of office spaces, and addressing pending references from the Prime Minister’s Office and Members of Parliament, along with public grievances received through CPGRAM, the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System.
Beyond the formal campaign periods, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs has been running continuous drives focused on cleanliness, tree planting, and employee health check-ups across its offices. The ministry has also improved how it manages and stores records, and has disposed of scrap materials to free up working space in its facilities.
What this means for you
If you interact with Ministry of Corporate Affairs offices or use their services, you can expect improved cleanliness standards and more efficient digital systems for processing your applications and grievances. The campaign also signals the government’s broader effort to maintain transparent and sustainable working practices in public administration, which can improve the overall quality of governance and citizen services.
