Progress of Ministry of Civil Aviation under Special Campaign 5.0

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has completed a major workplace cleanup and grievance resolution drive as part of Special Campaign 5.0, a central government initiative. Led by Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, the Ministry processed thousands of old files, cleared office clutter, and resolved nearly all pending citizen complaints over a ten-month period ending 31 August 2026.

What the Ministry accomplished

Between 1 November 2025 and 31 August 2026, the Ministry reviewed 6,803 physical files and 1,316 electronic files. Of these, 570 electronic files were closed and 1,628 physical files were destroyed after review. The Ministry conducted 1,166 cleanliness drives across its offices.

Physical space freed up totalled approximately 18,308 square feet through removal of scrap, electronic waste and redundant documents. Sale of scrap generated revenue of Rs. 41,20,582.

On grievance handling, the Ministry resolved over 7,250 public complaints and 2,100 grievance appeals, achieving a redressal rate of approximately 99 percent. A Passenger Assistance Control Room was set up on 10 December 2025 to monitor aviation operations and handle passenger complaints in real time.

The Ministry also cleared administrative backlog by disposing of 41 references from Members of Parliament, 20 from the Prime Minister’s Office, 3 inter-ministerial communications and 14 from State Governments.

What this means for you

If you have filed a complaint with the Civil Aviation Ministry through the AirSewa or CPGRAMS portals, your case is far more likely to receive a response quickly. The near-complete grievance resolution rate suggests the Ministry is now processing complaints much faster than before. The new Passenger Assistance Control Room means aviation-related issues can be flagged for immediate attention rather than waiting in queues.
