The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched a Points, Rewards and Recognition mechanism on the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Portal to acknowledge and encourage young people who participate in volunteering, experiential learning and civic engagement activities. The scheme creates a structured pathway where youth accumulate points through their involvement on the platform and unlock progressively valuable rewards as they reach defined milestones.
Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya announced the initiative, framing youth participation as essential to building a developed India. The mechanism aims to transform individual contributions into formal recognition, tangible benefits and leadership opportunities.

How the rewards system works
The scheme operates through a milestone-based structure where young people earn points by engaging with MY Bharat initiatives. As they accumulate points, they progress through distinct reward tiers. The early milestones focus on formal recognition and digital visibility, establishing the individual’s credibility within the youth community. At intermediate levels, achievers receive books and gain prominent visibility through the Digital Hall of Fame. The highest milestones provide exclusive access to senior government leaders and major national youth forums.
Entry into the Digital Hall of Fame requires reaching 5,000 points and results in public display of the achiever’s name, photograph, MY Bharat ID and biographical profile. The platform is exploring options to allow other users to send messages to these recognized individuals, subject to appropriate safeguards to protect privacy and security.
Higher milestones and leadership engagement
The scheme’s upper tiers shift focus from material rewards to developmental opportunities. Youth achieving 50,000 points become eligible for direct interaction with the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports at major national youth forums such as the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue. The highest milestone of 1,00,000 points grants the rarest opportunity: a meeting with the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports during the same dialogue series.
The identification and verification of eligible youth at these top milestones will be handled by MY Bharat Headquarters. The felicitation events for 50,000 and 1,00,000-point achievers are scheduled to begin in October 2027.
Policy intent
The initiative aims to sustain young people’s engagement in community service and nation-building work by making their contributions visible and rewarding their consistency. Rather than a one-time incentive, the mechanism encourages progressive advancement, rewarding those who demonstrate sustained commitment over time. This aligns with the government’s broader vision of “Samarth Yuva, Viksit Bharat” (Capable Youth, Developed India), positioning youth as central to India’s development as a nation.
What this means for you
If you are a young person active on the MY Bharat Portal, your volunteering, learning activities and civic participation now translate directly into recognized achievements. Early milestones provide formal acknowledgment suitable for resumes and professional portfolios. Mid-level achievements offer public recognition and tangible books. If you reach the highest milestones, you gain rare access to national leadership, potentially opening doors for mentorship, opportunities and further involvement in government-led youth initiatives.
The scheme applies to all youth users of the MY Bharat Platform and operates on a transparent, points-based system with publicly defined eligibility criteria.
What happens next
The Points, Rewards and Recognition mechanism is being operationalized on the MY Bharat Portal immediately. Recognition and rewards at lower milestones will commence as youth accumulate points. The felicitation of achievers at the 50,000 and 1,00,000-point milestones is scheduled to begin from October 2027, after sufficient time has elapsed for youth to reach these higher thresholds.
