Indian Railways has opened 3,548 graduate-level job vacancies across four categories under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC-Graduate) recruitment. The Ministry of Railways issued this notification through Centralised Employment Notification No. 06/2026 via the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs). This recruitment drive offers career opportunities for degree holders in commercial services, train operations, accounts and administration roles.

The recruitment covers four distinct job categories. Goods Train Manager is the largest category with 2,750 positions, responsible for train operations and management. Senior Clerk Cum Typist positions (371 vacancies) and Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist roles (300 vacancies) support administrative and accounts functions. Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor (127 vacancies) handles commercial services and ticketing operations. Pay and benefits

The Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor role offers an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 per month at Pay Level 6 under the Seventh Central Pay Commission. The remaining three categories offer an initial basic pay of ₹29,200 per month at Pay Level 5. In addition to basic pay, appointees will receive applicable allowances and service conditions as governed by relevant railway rules.

Eligibility requirements

Applicants must hold a degree from a recognised university or equivalent qualification. The age limit is 18 to 33 years as on 1 January 2027. Age relaxation is available for eligible categories as per prescribed rules. Candidates must meet post-specific eligibility conditions mentioned in the detailed notification.

Selection process

The selection comprises multiple stages. First, candidates take a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by a second-stage CBT. After this, qualified candidates undergo Document Verification and Medical Examination as applicable. Selection is merit-based and depends on fulfilling all prescribed eligibility conditions.

The recruitment framework includes applicable reservation benefits and age relaxation for eligible candidates. Candidates with disabilities are entitled to scribe assistance and compensatory time during examinations, as per prescribed provisions.
