Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan will travel across four states and one union territory from August 29 to 31, 2026, to attend educational events, cultural celebrations and public programmes. The three-day visit covers Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep, with stops at institutions and public gatherings across these regions.
What the Vice President will do
On August 29, the Vice President will attend the Founder’s Day event at Kongu Vellalar Institute of Technology Trust in Erode, Tamil Nadu. The same day, he will travel to Bengaluru to be the Chief Guest at centenary celebrations honouring former Karnataka Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde at the Vidhana Soudha.
August 30 will be dedicated to Kerala. The Vice President will begin in Alappuzha to mark the 115th anniversary of Kerala Kaumudi newspaper at Leo XIII Higher Secondary School. He will then move to Pathanamthitta to open the Aranmula Water Festival 2026. Later that day, he will travel to Thiruvananthapuram to inaugurate the Onam Pageantry, the state’s major cultural festival celebration.
On August 31, the Vice President will visit Agatti Island in Lakshadweep as Chief Guest at an outreach programme organised by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying. After returning to Kerala, he will attend the Silver Jubilee celebration of Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology and the Confluence 3.0 Industry-Academia Summit at the institution’s auditorium in Kakkanad, Kochi.
