The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions through its Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has released its 51st monthly performance report on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) for July 2026. The report tracks how well central government ministries and departments are handling public complaints. It shows that over two lakh grievances were successfully resolved during the month.
What the July 2026 report shows
Central ministries and departments redressed 2,16,827 grievances in July 2026. This marks the 49th consecutive month in which monthly disposal exceeded one lakh cases. The average time taken to dispose of grievances across central ministries stood at 12 days during 2026.
The system received 2,20,909 new public grievance cases in July, with 83,866 cases still pending. On appeals, the system received 19,778 appeals and disposed of 24,312, leaving 17,219 pending.
A total of 1,07,186 new users registered on the CPGRAMS portal in July 2026, the highest monthly registration for the year. Registration numbers were highest from Uttar Pradesh (17,819), followed by West Bengal (12,982) and Maharashtra (10,156).
CPGRAMS has been integrated with Common Service Centres across the country, now available at more than 5 lakh locations run by 2.5 lakh Village Level Entrepreneurs. Through these centres, 9,475 grievances were registered in July.
The Report also tracked performance through the Grievance Redressal Assessment and Index (GRAI). In the Group A category (departments handling 500 or more grievances), the Department of Posts, Department of Telecommunications and Department of Financial Services (Insurance Division) ranked at the top. In the Group B category (departments handling fewer than 500 grievances), the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Department of Official Language and Ministry of Textiles performed best.
A Review Meeting Module was operationalised on 14 July 2025 to allow top secretaries to personally review public grievances. By 31 July 2026, a total of 398 review meetings had been conducted, with 17 held in July alone.
What this means for you
If you file a complaint with any central government ministry or department, you can now track it through CPGRAMS. You can register your grievance online, through Common Service Centres in your village, or through other channels. Based on current performance, your complaint is likely to be resolved within about 12 days on average.
