What is being implemented and where
Kavach Version 4.0 is an Indian-made Automatic Train Protection system. The technology is designed to prevent trains from crossing red signals, apply brakes automatically when there is danger, control train speed in risky situations, and reduce collision risks. The Moradabad Division will receive this system across its remaining 712 route kilometres, completing the safety upgrade of this section of Northern Railway.
The total investment approved for this work stands at ₹170 crore. This forms part of Indian Railways’ wider plan to expand Kavach coverage across its network and modernise signalling and train protection systems nationwide.
