The Ministry of Coal has held a planning meeting to prepare for Special Campaign 6.0, a nationwide drive focused on cleanliness, efficiency and better use of government resources. The meeting brought together senior officials from Coal India Limited, NLC India Limited, the Coal Controller’s Organisation and the Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation to outline the campaign’s goals and approach.
What the campaign will focus on
Special Campaign 6.0 will prioritise several areas of improvement across coal sector organisations. These include proper collection, sorting and disposal of electronic waste; better use and organisation of office spaces; adoption of modern cleaning methods; efficient handling of scrap materials; promotion of digital systems and environmentally friendly practices; converting waste into reusable resources; and strengthening procedures within institutions.
The campaign will also emphasise treating citizens fairly, listening to their needs and concerns, and building stronger systems within government offices.
The preparatory meeting reviewed the performance of the previous Special Campaign 5.0. According to an assessment by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, the Ministry of Coal ranked first nationally in the amount of office space it cleared and freed up. The ministry also came third in revenue generated through the campaign. These results demonstrate the sector’s track record in delivering results under such initiatives.
