India and Germany have agreed to deepen their partnership in energy and climate matters. The Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, met with the German Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Climate Protection and Nuclear Safety, Mr. Carsten Schneider, in New Delhi to discuss ways both countries can work together on energy challenges.

The two ministers reviewed cooperation between India and Germany across several energy-related areas. Their talks included energy security, bringing electricity to more people, low carbon development strategies, carbon markets and making supply chains more diverse.
