The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, along with Intel India, has launched training programmes to prepare Indian youth for jobs in the emerging field of Agentic AI. The announcement came after a National Leadership Dialogue held in New Delhi that brought together government officials, educators, industry leaders and representatives from India’s skilling sector to discuss how to ready the workforce for an AI-driven economy.
What the Agentic AI Skilling Initiative Includes
NIELIT and Intel India have introduced two distinct programmes under the new Agentic AI Skilling Initiative:
- Agentic AI for Everyone: This programme teaches learners about workflow automation, AI agents and multi-agent systems. It uses no-code platforms to give hands-on experience in designing and managing AI-powered workflows. The focus is on improving productivity and enabling business transformation through intelligent decision-making.
- Engineering Agentic AI Systems: This is a more technical programme for those who want to build and deploy AI systems. Learners will work with both no-code and low-code tools, as well as code-based frameworks. Topics include agent architecture, tool integration, memory management and deployment of production-ready solutions.
The programmes aim to reach learners and educational institutions across the country, not just in major cities.
