India’s Minister of State for Space, Dr Jitendra Singh, and France’s Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space, Prof Philippe Baptiste, held a virtual meeting to discuss expanding ties between the two countries in space activities. The talks focused on India’s participation in an International Space Summit planned for Paris in mid-September 2026, and France’s involvement in a space expo to be held in Bengaluru around the same dates.

Both ministers agreed to deepen cooperation in human spaceflight, advanced space technologies, and industry partnerships. Dr Jitendra Singh said India sees the Paris summit as an important platform for discussing space science, space economy, and the secure use of space. He also noted India’s support for international standards on sustainable outer space use and data sharing.
A significant announcement was that the Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has been invited to deliver the opening keynote address at the Paris summit. The keynote will focus on India’s plans for human spaceflight missions in Low Earth Orbit. The Indian delegation may also present on other topics including space manufacturing, satellite connectivity, and exploration beyond the International Space Station.
Prof Baptiste confirmed France’s interest in participating in the Bengaluru Space Expo from September 7-9, 2026. He is scheduled to visit India from September 28-30, 2026, during which he plans to visit ISRO facilities in Bengaluru and meet with Dr Jitendra Singh.
