The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, through Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL), held a farmer engagement session in Telangana focused on the Prime Minister’s Promotion of Alternate Nutrients for Agriculture Management (PM-PRANAM) scheme. The event took place on 5 September 2026 in Godkondla village, Nalgonda District, and brought together around 30 farmers to discuss fertilizer use and soil health.
What happened at the event
MFL’s Hyderabad Regional Office organised the Kisan Sangoshthi (farmer meeting) with support from the local fertilizer dealer and panchayat leadership. The programme included a practical demonstration of organic manure alongside discussion of balanced fertilizer use. Officials explained the PM-PRANAM scheme’s core purpose: reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers while promoting organic, biological and alternative nutrient options.
To make the information accessible, explanations were provided in Telugu. Farmers were shown MFL’s Vijay 17-17-17 Complex Fertilizer and comparisons were drawn with competing products. The session was interactive, with organisers addressing farmer concerns and questions directly.
A significant concern raised by farmers present was damage to cotton crops from inadequate rainfall in the region. Farmers indicated strong interest in the Vijay fertilizer product after evaluating it against alternatives.
