The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has launched the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue 2027, a nationwide initiative inviting young people to submit ideas that will be considered for inclusion in the upcoming national budget. The programme aims to gather innovative solutions and perspectives from youth aged 15 to 29 years to help build a developed India by 2047.
Officials announced the scheme at a press conference in Telangana, stating that selected participants will have the chance to present their ideas directly to domain experts, Union Ministers and the Prime Minister himself.
How the programme works
The selection process begins with an online quiz containing 20 questions. The quiz closes on 30 September 2026. Candidates who perform well will move to subsequent rounds, which include essay-writing and district-level presentations using PowerPoint.
Young people can participate through six tracks:
- Viksit Bharat Challenge
- Cultural Track
- Design for Bharat
- Hack for Social Cause
- Youth Entrepreneurs Challenge
- Youth Parliament
At the state level, participants will make five-minute presentations before a jury. For Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka, the theme is “Southern Gateway – Technology, Innovation and Future Readiness”, focusing on technology, innovation, future readiness and job creation.
Approximately 70 youth from Telangana will be selected from around 3 lakh applicants to progress to the state-level dialogue. Those who succeed at state level will be invited to the National VBYLD in New Delhi. Registration is free, and accommodation will be provided for selected participants at the national event.

If you are between 15 and 29 years old, you can participate in this programme at no cost. Your ideas on technology, social innovation or youth entrepreneurship could reach top government decision-makers and potentially shape national policy.
