11th Ayurveda Day 2026 to be Celebrated in Nagpur, Maharashtra under the Theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”

The Ministry of Ayush has announced that the 11th National Ayurveda Day will be celebrated in Nagpur, Maharashtra on 23 September 2026. The theme is “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”. Union Minister of State for Ayush Shri Prataprao Jadhav said the occasion will serve as a national health communication campaign to connect India’s traditional medical knowledge with modern healthcare needs.

Key Details of the Campaign

The celebrations will focus on three main areas: integrative healthcare that combines different medical systems; evidence-based research and innovation in Ayurveda; and community wellbeing through sustainable living practices.

Several programmes have been planned for the occasion. These include:

  • National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards 2026
  • New programmes at the National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur
  • Safety documentation on medicinal plants
  • Standard Treatment Guidelines for skin diseases
  • Release of a report on the Ayush Services Sector
  • Ayush Vision 2030 document
  • Exchange of Memorandums of Understanding between institutions

The Minister emphasised that Ayurveda addresses healthcare beyond treating disease. It covers preventive practices, proper nutrition, daily routines, mental balance and harmony with nature. He stressed that the campaign should operate as a people’s movement rather than merely a government programme, reaching schools, colleges, young people and rural and urban communities alike.

What This Means for You

If you are interested in Ayurveda, whether as a student, practitioner or citizen, the nationwide campaign will provide reliable, evidence-based information about the system. The focus on research and innovation suggests that Ayurvedic treatments are being studied more rigorously, which could help address misconceptions and build wider acceptance. For those in rural and urban areas, the campaign aims to make Ayurvedic health principles more accessible and practical for daily living.
