The Ministry of Ayush will hold the 11th National Ayurveda Day celebrations on 23 September in Nagpur. The event will bring together Ayurveda institutions, practitioners and supporters from across India and beyond to discuss how the traditional system can contribute to better public health. Several new research documents, guidelines and digital tools will be unveiled on the day.
What will be launched
The main national event in Nagpur will introduce the first-ever Report on the Ayush Services Sector, prepared by the Research and Information System for Developing Countries. This report assesses the size and scope of Ayush as an economic and healthcare sector.
The Ministry will also release:
- Safety Dossiers on two plant-based medicines: Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Chandrasura (Lepidium sativum)
- Standard Treatment Guidelines for Skin Disorders in Ayurveda
- A report titled “From Traditional Wisdom to Global Leadership: Ayush Vision 2030”
- A Status Report on Ayush-related Inventions in India
- The CCRAS–AGNI Assessment Scale Web Portal, a digital tool created by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences
Four industries will receive the Ayush Quality Mark Certification at the event. The celebrations will include two scientific sessions: one on Ayurveda’s role in health by 2047, and another on how Ayurveda can help reduce non-communicable diseases by 2027.
What this means for you
If you use Ayurvedic medicines or treatments, the new safety dossiers and treatment guidelines represent an effort to document and standardise practices based on research. The web portal launching on the day will make Ayurveda assessment tools more accessible to practitioners and students. For those interested in Ayush as a career or business, the sector report provides data on market size and opportunities. The event signals the government’s push to integrate Ayurveda into mainstream healthcare discussions alongside modern medicine.
