The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is organising the Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh on 20 September 2026, a large-scale youth engagement event under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – 100 Weeks Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan. The programme will operate across more than 1,000 locations nationwide, targeting young people with messages about addiction-free living and healthy choices.
What is happening and where
The event will take place simultaneously across 1,067 locations. This includes 471 District MY Bharat Offices alongside 596 locations run by partner organisations. The participating partners span spiritual groups, educational institutions, industry bodies, NGOs and local organisations.
Major spiritual organisations involved are Maa Amritanandmayi Math (130 locations), Heartfulness (74 locations) and BAPS (56 locations). Industry partners include ASSOCHAM, CII and FICCI. The network also includes 18 MY Bharat chapters in private and premier institutes, plus 245 local partner organisations.
On the ground, the Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh will feature a Nasha Mukt Pledge and Signature Campaign, thematic street plays, slogan writing competitions and youth-led group discussions. These activities are designed to let young people share their views, connect with peers and turn awareness into concrete action.
This follows an opening day on 18 September, which saw participation across 259 institutions. That day recorded 1,430 activities and drew 1,46,520 participants from all 28 States and 8 Union Territories.
The broader campaign, the 100 Weeks Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan, is structured around three themes: My Health, My Pride; Fit Youth, Addiction-Free Youth; and Life Skills Month. It focuses on prevention, awareness, healthy lifestyles and positive youth engagement.
What this means for you
If you are a young person or work with youth organisations in India, your area likely has a participation point on 20 September. You can join pledges, sign campaigns, watch street plays or take part in discussions about health and addiction prevention. The event is designed as a space for young voices, so it offers a chance to express views and connect with others around these issues at a location near you.
