The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is preparing to launch Special Campaign 6.0, a nationwide push to clean up government offices and clear pending work. The campaign will run from October 2 to October 31, 2026, and is being coordinated by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
This edition has a particular focus on proper handling and disposal of electronic waste in accordance with the E-Waste Management Rules, 2022. The drive will cover all MSME ministry offices, field centres, autonomous bodies and public sector units.
What the campaign involves
A preparatory phase is underway from September 15 to 30, 2026, during which the ministry is drawing up action plans and training staff at all levels. The actual implementation will take place throughout October.
During this period, the campaign will focus on:
- Cleaning and organising offices
- Collecting, sorting and safely disposing of electronic waste
- Converting paper records to digital formats where possible
- Removing old, unnecessary files from storage
- Freeing up physical office space
- Clearing backlog of requests from Members of Parliament, state governments, parliamentary committees, the Prime Minister’s Office and the public
In the previous campaign (Special Campaign 5.0), the ministry and its six attached organisations disposed of over 22,365 public grievances and freed up 1,167 square feet of office space. They also sold scrap materials worth ₹22.89 lakh and cleared over 99 percent of pending public grievances during the period from November 2025 to September 2026.
