Nationwide Public Participation Gathers Momentum Ahead of 11th Ayurveda Day

The Ministry of Ayush announced that participation in the 11th Ayurveda Day, to be marked on September 23, has grown significantly across India. More than 9,700 events are being held across 30 states and union territories, with nearly 89 lakh citizens pledging their support for the traditional health system. The celebration carries the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”.

The Numbers and Activities

Over 3.6 lakh people have registered through the official website ayurvedaday.org.in to participate in the observance. States such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have seen particularly strong engagement.

The events taking place include:

  • Awareness programmes and health camps focused on Ayurveda
  • Information, education and communication activities
  • Medicinal plant plantation and conservation drives
  • Ayurveda sessions in schools and colleges
  • Campaigns promoting traditional dietary practices
  • Public pledge campaigns and quiz competitions
  • Youth-focused engagement initiatives

Beyond India, the celebration has attracted involvement from 10 countries and territories including the United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Spain, Algeria, Australia, Denmark, Iceland and the United States of America. More than 1,900 international participants have registered activities.
