Vice President of India Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan will travel through four northeastern states between September 6 and 9, 2026. During the four-day journey across Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, he will attend educational ceremonies, interact with students and visit sites of historical importance.
What the Vice-President will do
On September 6, the Vice-President arrives in Guwahati, Assam. His first engagement will be attending the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Geetanagar College, which was formerly called Kanya Mahavidyalaya. The same day, he will be present at the Convocation Ceremony of Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences in Guwahati.
September 7 includes a foundation stone laying event at Gauhati University. Following this, he will hold discussions with students, faculty and prominent local figures at the University’s Convention Centre. Later that day, he will travel to Shillong, Meghalaya, for a public reception and cultural programme at Soso Tham Auditorium.
On September 8, the Vice-President will reach Imphal, Manipur. His schedule there includes visits to the INA Museum and War Memorial at Moirang, and Sainik School Imphal. He will then proceed to Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh.
On the final day, September 9, he will address a special session of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly and view the Assembly Gallery-cum-Museum. He will also visit Nyedar Namlo and the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum in Itanagar, concluding with a visit to the Donyi Polo Mission School for hearing and visually impaired students.
