The Union Ministry of Education is organizing the BRICS Bharat Innovates Exposition on 11 and 12 September 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. The event will run alongside the 18th BRICS Summit and aims to display India’s advanced technology startups to an international audience of business leaders, investors and government officials from BRICS member nations.
What is being showcased and who is involved
The exposition will feature 37 Indian deep-tech startups selected from a larger pool of 120 ventures. These companies work across various technology sectors aligned with India’s BRICS Chairship theme of “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”.
The event is being coordinated by the Ministry of Education alongside the Ministry of External Affairs. Senior Indian leaders including the Prime Minister and Union Education Minister are expected to attend, along with heads of delegations from other BRICS countries. The exposition runs parallel to the BRICS Business Forum on 11 September, creating networking opportunities between participating innovators and international CEOs, investors and business representatives.
This is the second major showcase for Indian deep-tech ventures in 2026. The first edition, called Bharat Innovates, took place in Nice, France in June 2026 under the India-France Year of Innovation, where 120 Indian startups were displayed and secured funding commitments of 254.5 million US dollars through 1,350 business-to-business meetings.
