The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), which operates under the Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance, has partnered with Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya through a formal agreement signed on September 18, 2026. This collaboration aims to build awareness about drug abuse, engage young people in prevention efforts, and mobilise communities across India to create a substance-free society.
Key details of the partnership
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Shri Naresh Bundel, Deputy Narcotics Commissioner, and Dr. Banarsilal Sah, Secretary of Brahma Kumaris’ Medical Wing, at Mount Abu in Rajasthan. The agreement creates a framework for designing, running and assessing drug-awareness campaigns, youth programmes and community initiatives.
The partnership will concentrate on four states: Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. Work will centre on value-based preventive education, explaining how narcotic and psychotropic drugs harm health, and directing affected persons toward counselling, treatment and recovery services.
Activities will include seminars, workshops, multimedia exhibitions, awareness marches, poster competitions and online campaigns under CBN’s Yuva Raksha initiative. Schools, colleges, universities, coaching centres, vocational institutes, and rural areas growing traditional crops will receive special attention. The partnership will also offer life-skills training, stress-management classes and wellness activities such as meditation and yogic breathing.
Brahma Kumaris will contribute its centres, trained volunteers, spiritual counsellors and digital platforms to promote the Yuva Raksha campaign. The organisation will also mobilise its youth groups, student members, teachers and community leaders. Both parties will organise volunteer training and capacity-building sessions.
All activities will remain voluntary, educational and inclusive. Brahma Kumaris volunteers will only undertake awareness and community-support work; they will not perform enforcement, investigation or police functions.
