The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), under the Ministry of Science and Technology, has launched an online science quiz on the MY Bharat portal in partnership with the Department of Youth Affairs. The quiz, called CSIR SciQuiz, is running from 20 to 26 September 2026 and is open to all Indian citizens as part of CSIR’s 85th Foundation Day celebrations.
What the quiz covers
The CSIR SciQuiz consists of multiple-choice questions focused on CSIR’s scientific work and achievements across several fields. The questions test knowledge of CSIR’s contributions in healthcare, agriculture, environment, infrastructure, energy, aerospace, biotechnology and strategic technologies. The quiz aims to showcase how CSIR’s research laboratories translate their work into practical solutions for society and industry.
Participants who take part have a chance to win a day visit to a CSIR laboratory of their choice. This would give winners direct exposure to India’s scientific research and innovation facilities.
The CSIR has indicated that SciQuiz sessions will continue beyond September 2026, with more rounds planned on the MY Bharat Portal in coming months. Each session will focus on different aspects of CSIR’s research output and innovations.
