The Ministry of Culture has launched the eighth edition of the PM Mementos e-Auction 2026, which opened on 17 September. The auction features gifts and mementos presented to the Prime Minister over time, with this year’s collection highlighting Gujarat’s cultural traditions, architectural heritage and modern achievements. Proceeds from the sale will support the Namami Gange Programme, a national river conservation initiative.
What is being auctioned
The 2026 auction includes 1,498 mementos from across India. The Gujarat collection showcases the state’s diverse heritage through items such as:
- A memento representing the 17th-century Hatkeshwar Mahadev Temple in Vadnagar, with its distinctive architectural details
- A Mata-ni-Pachedi textile painting, a traditional Tree of Life artwork depicting wisdom, strength and interconnectedness
- Pithora paintings from central Gujarat’s Rathwa, Bhil and Bhilala communities, featuring horses and deities
- A sporting memento from table tennis player Manav Thakkar, who has competed in the Commonwealth Games and Asian Championships
- A solar tile engraved with the Modhera Sun Temple design, combining heritage with renewable energy technology
- Representations of temples including Ambaji, Somnath and Dwarkadhish Ji
- A replica model of AIIMS Rajkot and a wooden architectural memento of the Adalaj Stepwell
- A commemorative semiconductor plaque titled “Charkha to Chips” from Tata Electronics
The collection also includes traditional crafts such as Bhujodi shawls and Lippan art.

The auction provides an opportunity to own pieces representing Indian culture and heritage. Money raised through this auction will fund river conservation efforts under the Namami Gange Programme. Previous editions of this auction have generated over 50 crore rupees for the initiative since the scheme began in January 2019.
