The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), functioning under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has joined the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign. Officers and staff across ICAR headquarters and its institutes nationwide took the cleanliness pledge, signalling the organisation’s commitment to hygiene standards and sanitation practices.
The pledge ceremony took place at two locations in New Delhi on 17 September 2026. Dr M. L. Jat, who holds the position of Secretary in the Department of Agricultural Research and Education and also serves as Director General of ICAR, administered the pledge at Krishi Bhawan. Simultaneously, Dr Rajbir Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension) at ICAR, led the pledge ceremony at Krishi Anusandhan Bhawan.
