What is Special Campaign 6.0?
Special Campaign 6.0 is a government-wide initiative aimed at clearing accumulated pending work in ministries and departments. The Ministry of Ayush used this campaign to focus on grievances filed by citizens, appeals against previous grievance decisions, and references received from Parliament, the Prime Minister’s Office and state governments. The campaign emphasises quick resolution of cases that may have been delayed, ensuring citizens and legislators receive timely responses to their concerns.
Grievances resolved
The ministry addressed 3,100 public grievances during the campaign period. Public grievances are formal complaints or requests filed by citizens with government ministries when they face problems related to government services or policies. The ministry’s 99% disposal rate means nearly all pending complaints were examined and resolved or closed during the eight-month campaign period. Additionally, the ministry cleared 454 appeals from citizens who were dissatisfied with earlier grievance decisions, achieving a 98% clearance rate for these appeals as well.
Parliamentary and government references
Beyond citizen grievances, the Ministry of Ayush also processed 70 references from Members of Parliament, which are typically requests for information or action on behalf of constituents. The ministry completed 18 Parliamentary Assurances, which are commitments made by ministers to Parliament that require follow-up action and proof of completion. The ministry also resolved 14 references sent by the Prime Minister’s Office, which carry high priority, and addressed 3 references from state governments related to Ayush matters.
Institutional improvements
The campaign was designed not only to clear backlog but also to strengthen the ministry’s internal processes for handling grievances. By addressing all pending matters within a set timeframe, the ministry identified bottlenecks and inefficiencies in its grievance disposal system. The focused effort across the Ministry of Ayush and its associated organisations helped establish better coordination for faster resolution of complaints. These improvements are expected to help the ministry handle future grievances more quickly and efficiently.
What this means for you
If you have filed a grievance with the Ministry of Ayush regarding Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani or Homeopathy services or policies, your complaint is more likely to be resolved quickly. The campaign demonstrates that the ministry is prioritising citizen complaints and working to reduce delays. Citizens who appealed against earlier grievance decisions have also benefited from the focused clearance efforts. Additionally, if your MP raised a question or concern about Ayush ministry policies on your behalf, those parliamentary references have been addressed during this campaign.
Connection to existing grievance system
Every ministry in India has a formal grievance redressal system where citizens can lodge complaints about service delivery or policy issues. The Ministry of Ayush’s participation in Special Campaign 6.0 shows its commitment to this system. The campaign is part of a broader government effort to modernise administration by clearing old files and improving responsiveness. By achieving a 99% clearance rate, the ministry has reset its grievance backlog, allowing it to focus on new complaints with fresh institutional processes.
