Top-ranking science students pursuing a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree in natural and basic sciences get an annual scholarship under the INSPIRE Scheme, designed to attract talented youth towards a career in scientific research.

Selection is based on either Class XII board exam rank (top 1% in the state board) or performance in national exams like JEE/NEET/KVPY, and continuation is subject to maintaining a minimum academic performance each year.

Who is eligible

  • Students who are among the top 1% in their Class XII state/central board, or qualify through JEE/NEET/KVPY merit, and pursue a full-time Bachelor's/integrated MS/MSc programme in natural or basic sciences
  • Minimum 60% aggregate maintained each year to continue
