The Ministry of Textiles has launched the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 Campaign, a nationwide cleanliness and hygiene initiative running from 17 September to 2 October 2026. The campaign involves the Ministry and all its affiliated organisations in conducting awareness activities and cleanliness drives across office spaces, educational institutions and public areas. This year’s focus is on treating cleanliness as a shared community responsibility under the theme “Swachhata Mein Sahbhag, Swachh Bharat Viksit Bharat”.
What the campaign includes
The Ministry and its organisations have already undertaken several activities:
- A Thematic Art Poster Making Competition was held on 18 September 2026 at GPOA-3 Netaji Nagar, New Delhi
- Division heads visited various sections to review cleanliness standards and encourage hygienic practices among employees
- Campaign banners have been added to the websites of the Ministry and all affiliated organisations
- Standees and selfie points have been installed in prominent locations across office buildings
- The Central Cottage Industries Corporation of India conducted an awareness session on 17 September 2026 highlighting the importance of cleanliness
- Posters and messages about cleanliness and water conservation were displayed in showrooms on 18 September 2026
- The Cotton Corporation of India undertook beautification of public spaces and created interactive installations to encourage citizen participation through social media
- The Textile Committee conducted awareness campaigns promoting reduction of single-use plastic and conservation of natural resources
