The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises will inaugurate a new Technology Centre in Devanahalli, Bengaluru on 10 September 2026. The facility, built at a cost of ₹156 crore, will serve small and medium enterprises working in electronics and aerospace manufacturing across Karnataka and neighbouring regions.
Union Minister of State for MSME Sushri Shobha Karandlaje will lead the inauguration, joined by Karnataka state ministers and industry representatives.
What the Centre will offer
The Technology Centre spreads across 10 acres and includes a training block, production block, administrative offices, and residential facilities for trainees and staff. It is designed specifically to support the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector.
The Centre will house advanced equipment including Surface-Mount Technology lines, additive manufacturing machines, CNC machines, and Electric Discharge Machines. MSMEs will gain access to testing laboratories, design support, and business advisory services.
The facility is built to train approximately 10,000 people annually in areas such as embedded system design, printed circuit board assembly, automation, robotics, and equipment maintenance. It will also provide design assistance and technical consultancy to improve productivity of small manufacturers.
The location near Bengaluru positions it within an established industrial ecosystem. The region hosts major companies including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Indian Space Research Organisation, Airbus, Boeing, Texas Instruments, and numerous smaller electronics firms working in defence, semiconductors, and aerospace.
