Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal has outlined plans to position Uttar Pradesh as a major player in global trade, leveraging free trade agreements and improved infrastructure to expand the state’s export capacity significantly over the next four years.
Speaking at the UP International Trade Show in Greater Noida, Shri Goyal said that as India negotiates free trade agreements with countries worldwide, Uttar Pradesh’s businesses will gain direct access to new international markets. The state currently exports goods and services worth around ₹2 lakh crore annually, but the government is targeting an increase to ₹5 lakh crore by 2030.
