The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has announced an expansion of healthcare products available through the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), a government scheme that provides affordable medicines and medical devices. The scheme now covers items beyond medicines, including baby care products, monitoring devices, and support equipment for elderly and dependent family members. Over 20,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras (centres) across the country stock these products.
What is available and at what cost
As of August 2026, the PMBJP product range includes 2,110 medicines and 315 surgical items, medical consumables and devices. These cover major therapeutic groups including heart conditions, cancer treatment, diabetes, infections, allergies and digestive health.

- Baby wipes (pack of 20): ₹45
- Cervical pillows: ₹525
- Electrical nebulizer machines: ₹937.50
- Nebulizer masks with tubing for children: ₹200
- Glucometer test strips (25 strips): ₹500
- Adult diapers (Jan Aushadhi Swabhiman range)
Additional products in the pipeline include knee braces, walkers, medical steam vaporizers, pregnancy back support belts and cervical collars.
Between 2021-22 and 2025-26, the scheme generated sales of ₹7,873.85 crore and delivered approximately ₹37,200 crore in savings to citizens.
