The Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will launch Special Campaign 6 from 2nd to 31st October 2026. The drive aims to strengthen cleanliness standards and reduce pending work across government health offices and institutions. A preparatory phase is already underway from 15th to 30th September 2026.
What the campaign involves
Special Campaign 6 will focus on three main areas: proper collection, segregation and disposal of electronic waste; ensuring clean and organised workspaces; and improving operational efficiency in offices.
During the preparatory phase in September, the department will identify pending cases, mobilise staff at ground level, select sites for cleanliness work, review stored records, plan space management and identify scrap material for disposal.
The department has already made considerable progress on these fronts. From November 2025 to August 2026, the Department of Health and Family Welfare:
- Reviewed 65,329 files, of which 27,531 were removed from storage
- Disposed of 47,537 public grievances and 3,635 related appeals
- Handled 543 references from Members of Parliament, 19 Parliamentary Assurances and 46 State Government references
- Conducted 659 cleanliness campaigns across its offices and institutions
- Generated ₹21.26 lakh in revenue from scrap disposal
- Freed up 24,299 square feet of workspace
