Key Details of the Schemes
SVAMITVA Scheme: This initiative provides official property title deeds to villagers through drone-based land surveys. The scheme addresses a major source of conflict in rural areas by documenting land ownership. More than 3 crore property cards have been distributed nationwide so far. The second phase of the scheme is nearing completion across the country, including in Gujarat. With these cards, rural residents can now approach banks for loans more easily, reducing their dependence on moneylenders.
Fisheries Sector: Around 6 crore people across India depend on fisheries for their livelihood. The government has introduced several policy initiatives including the Blue Revolution, PM Matsya Sampada Yojana (PM MSY), and established a dedicated Ministry of Fisheries. These measures include provisions for Free Trade Agreements and deep-sea fishing opportunities.
