The Department of Justice under the Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India, will conduct a regional workshop on September 21, 2026, in Goa as part of the DISHA 2.0 Scheme. DISHA stands for Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice. The event aims to strengthen how citizens access legal services through technology and awareness programmes across the country.
Event Details and Highlights
The workshop will take place from 10:30 a.m. onwards at the University Auditorium of India International University of Legal Education and Research in Goa. The Governor of Goa will attend as Chief Guest, along with the Minister of State for Law and Justice from the central government and Goa’s Minister for PWD, Captain of Ports and Legal Metrology.
The event will bring together officials from central and state governments, Common Service Centres, the Ministry of Rural Development, law schools, and other organisations involved in justice delivery.
Several programme segments have been planned:
- A showcase of winning reels from the “Nyaya Prabodh: Awakening to Justice” campaign, which aims to explain legal rights in 90 seconds
- Launch of a slogan competition under the Nyaya Prabodh initiative to increase legal literacy
- Screening of a documentary on DISHA 2.0’s achievements in Goa
- Live conversations with people who have benefited from Tele-Law services, panel lawyers, Village Level Entrepreneurs, and Nyaya Sahayaks
- Interactions with law school students and faculty members participating in the Nyaya Bandhu Pro Bono Legal Services Programme
