What this recruitment is
ONGC, India’s largest oil and gas producer, has notified 3,047 apprentice seats for 2026-27 under advertisement ONGC/APPR/1/2026. The one year apprenticeship is spread across ONGC’s Western, Eastern, Mumbai, Southern, Central and Northern sectors, with the largest share in the Western sector. Trade and location figures are tentative.
Who can apply
Eligibility depends on the trade. Graduate apprentice trades take engineering graduates, B.Com, B.Sc Chemistry, BBA or any graduate. Technician apprentices need a three year diploma, trade apprentices need an ITI in the trade, and some trades take Class 10 or 12 pass candidates. Applicants must be 18 to 24 years old as on 29 November 2026, with the usual relaxations for reserved categories.
How selection works
There is no written test or interview. Candidates are shortlisted on the marks of their qualifying examination, followed by document verification and a final merit list. Where marks are tied, the older candidate is placed higher.
How to apply
Register on the Apprenticeship India portal (NAPS) for trade apprentice posts, or on the NATS portal for graduate and diploma apprentice posts, then apply to ONGC by 20 November 2026. Read the official ONGC advertisement for the trade-wise seat list before you apply.
