What this recruitment is
Railway Recruitment Boards have issued a short notice for the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) recruitment. It covers 3,477 graduate-level posts under CEN 06/2026 and 1,688 undergraduate-level posts under CEN 07/2026, 5,165 in total. Graduate posts include Goods Train Manager (2,750), Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor (56), Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist (300) and Senior Clerk cum Typist (371). Undergraduate posts include Trains Clerk (188), Commercial cum Ticket Clerk (700), Accounts Clerk cum Typist (200) and Junior Clerk cum Typist (600).
Tentative dates
According to the short notice, applications for graduate posts run from 8 October to 6 November 2026, and for undergraduate posts from 15 October to 13 November 2026. These dates are tentative and the detailed CENs will give final eligibility, age limits and fees, with age counted as on 1 January 2027.
Selection process
Selection involves a first-stage CBT, a second-stage CBT, a typing skill test or aptitude test where applicable, document verification and a medical examination. Pay runs from Level 2 to Level 6 depending on the post. Check rrb.indianrailways.gov.in for the final notice.
