Commonly known as SSC CPO, this open competitive examination recruits Sub-Inspectors for Delhi Police and for the Central Armed Police Forces. The 2026 notice covers 1,871 tentative vacancies in all, made up of 205 posts of Sub-Inspector (Executive) Male and 112 Female in Delhi Police, 1,320 posts of Sub-Inspector (GD) in CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF and SSB, and 234 posts of Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF. All posts carry Level 6 pay, that is Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400.

Who can apply

A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is the basic requirement, and final year candidates may apply provided they hold the degree by the closing date. Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF needs a science degree with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or a matriculation plus a three year engineering diploma. The age band is 20 to 25 years as on 1 August 2026, and 18 to 30 years for the CISF Fire post.
