The Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance has won the first prize in the Rajbhasha Kirti awards for 2025-26. The award recognises the department’s work in promoting and using Hindi as the official language in its operations. The prize was handed over during the 6th All India Official Language Conference and Hindi Diwas held in September 2026.
Details of the award
The Department of Financial Services received the first prize in the category meant for ministries and departments with fewer than 300 staff members. The award was presented at the 6th All India Official Language Conference and Hindi Diwas, which took place on 14–15 September 2026 at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi, Navi Mumbai.
The conference was organised by the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation Shri Amit Shah chaired the event. Shri Hari Har Mishra, Additional Secretary at the Department of Financial Services, received the award on behalf of the department.
The Rajbhasha Kirti award honours departments and organisations that show outstanding performance in using Hindi for official purposes. The Department of Financial Services was selected for its effective implementation of Hindi in daily work, encouraging wider use of the language within the department, and creating innovative ways to use Hindi in official communications and documentation.
