The Odisha Sub-ordinate Staff Selection Commission has notified 7,268 posts in the Odisha Police under Advertisement 01-CRE-2026. It is one of the largest police recruitments of the year. The posts are Constable (Civil) 4,219, Constable in the Odisha Industrial Security Force 2,212, Firefighter 317, Constable (Communication) 300, Driver PMT 154, Firefighting Driver 62 and Traffic Constable 4.
Who can apply
Constable (Civil) needs a pass in plus two or Higher Secondary. Other posts carry their own requirements, and Constable (Communication) needs a science or technical qualification. Age is counted as on 1 January 2026: 18 to 26 years for Civil Constable, 18 to 23 years for Communication, OISF and Driver PMT, 18 to 25 years for Firefighter posts and 21 to 32 years for Traffic Constable, with relaxation for reserved categories.
Fee, selection and dates
The fee is Rs 500 for General and SEBC candidates, refunded to those who sit the written exam. SC and ST candidates are exempt. Selection runs through a written exam, physical measurement and efficiency tests, a driving or skill test where relevant, document verification and a medical exam. Applications opened on 23 October 2026 and close at 10 PM on 12 November 2026, with fee payment allowed until 13 November.
