The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has cleared Cyient Limited’s bid to acquire complete ownership of Tao Digital Solutions Inc. The decision, announced on 25 August 2026, removes regulatory hurdles for the Indian technology services company to take over the digital transformation firm.
What the deal involves
Cyient Limited, a publicly listed Indian company, will acquire all shares of Tao Digital Solutions Inc. from its current owners. Cyient specializes in engineering and technology services for sectors including aerospace, defense, automotive, rail transport, healthcare, life sciences, semiconductors, energy, industrial manufacturing, utilities, communications, and spatial intelligence.
Tao Digital Solutions operates globally across seven service areas:
- Product engineering
- Managed services
- Cybersecurity
- Payments
- Digitization and artificial intelligence
- Cloud services
- Data services
Within India, Tao Digital operates through a wholly owned subsidiary called Tao Digital India Private Limited. The CCI found no competition law objections to allowing Cyient to assume full control.
What this means for you
The approval means Cyient can now proceed with integrating Tao Digital’s capabilities into its own operations. If you work in technology services or use platforms for digital transformation, cloud, or data work, this consolidation may eventually affect service offerings or business relationships with either company. The CCI clearance suggests that the merger does not create harmful monopolistic conditions in any segment of the Indian or global market.
