The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, working with the Telangana government, held a dispute resolution event in Hyderabad that successfully settled 65 payment delay cases involving Rs 8.29 crore. The gathering, called Parishrama Adalat, brought together small business owners, their buyers, government bodies and dispute resolution institutions to work through stuck payments. The cases resolved show how delayed money can threaten a small business’s ability to pay workers, buy materials and grow.
What was resolved and how
The conclave took place at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Hyderabad. It resolved 65 cases where small enterprises had not received payments owed to them. The total amount involved was Rs 8.29 crore.
Several individual cases showed the impact of the resolution process:
- An entrepreneur recovered approximately Rs 30 lakh in four cases within two to three months, after waiting over two years for payment
- One business recovered Rs 54 lakh from nine different buyers through the online dispute resolution platform
- Another enterprise received Rs 40 lakh in two payments after the resolution process
- A person with disability running a small business recovered approximately Rs 11 lakh through the mechanism
The resolution process used both direct conciliation meetings between parties and an online dispute resolution platform launched in 2025. Across Telangana, more than 800 cases have been filed through this online system, with around 85 resolved so far.
What this means for you
If you run a micro or small enterprise and a customer has not paid you, there is now a formal system to recover the money. You can file your case through the online platform or through MSE Facilitation Councils in your area. The process brings in neutral parties to help you and the buyer reach a settlement, and some cases have moved from years of waiting to resolution within months. This matters because delayed payments directly affect your ability to pay staff, buy raw materials and pursue new business opportunities.
