PM to Address Youth at Khelo India Dialogue on 27th August

The Prime Minister will address the Khelo India Dialogue on 27th August at 11 AM through video conference. The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, working with Mera Yuva Bharat, is organising this programme as part of National Sports Day 2026 celebrations. It will involve youth from colleges across every district in India.

The Programme and Its Structure

The Khelo India Dialogue aims to connect young people with India’s sports ambitions and development goals. The initiative will take place at two colleges in every district across all States and Union Territories, allowing broad participation from youth across the country.

A central feature is Yuva Samvaad, where young participants will share their own ideas, perspectives and aspirations. The dialogue will focus on five key themes:

  • Strengthening India’s sports system through improved facilities, coaching and sports science
  • Developing Olympic talent for 2036 through scientific talent identification and athlete development
  • Building youth leaders through governance platforms and volunteering under Mera Yuva Bharat
  • Empowering youth for Viksit Bharat by developing civic responsibility and future-ready skills
  • Promoting a Nasha Mukt Yuva movement that uses sport and peer networks to combat substance abuse, connected to the weekly Jan Bhagidari activities under the Prime Minister’s 100-week campaign that began on 2 August 2026

The programme will include direct interactions between interested young participants and leading Indian athletes and medal winners. Local interactions will follow, involving youth participants, MY Bharat volunteers, local sports persons and public representatives.

What This Means for You

If you are a student in a college, your institution will likely host this dialogue, giving you a chance to engage with India’s sports ecosystem and meet accomplished athletes. The programme creates a platform to voice your ideas on sports facilities, Olympic aspirations and youth-led development. You can also explore volunteering opportunities and be part of nation-building efforts focused on fitness, leadership and substance abuse prevention.
