Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan launched Gnani Artha, a sovereign artificial intelligence system made in India, on 28 August 2026. The system combines Evon 3.3, a large language model, and Plexus, a platform that connects AI tools with real-world institutions and work. It was developed by GNANI AI and launched at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
What Gnani Artha contains
Gnani Artha is built from two components. Evon 3.3 is the language processing engine at its core. Plexus is the layer that allows this technology to connect with actual businesses, organisations and everyday tasks. Together, they form what the government calls a “sovereign AI stack”—meaning the technology is built and controlled within India rather than depending on foreign systems.
The Vice President noted that India already has institutional support for AI development through the IndiaAI Mission and Centres of Excellence for AI. He pointed to the Digital Sansad portal as an example of AI use in government, which makes parliamentary debates and documents available in multiple Indian languages. He also mentioned that AI-based interpretation in eight languages was recently introduced in parliamentary sessions, with plans to expand this to all scheduled languages.
