The Ministry of Earth Sciences has launched an online quiz competition to mark its 20 years of operation. Created in partnership with MyGov, the initiative invites Indian citizens to answer questions about the ministry’s work in weather science, ocean research, polar studies and earthquake monitoring. Winners will receive cash prizes and all participants will get digital certificates.
How the Quiz Works
The competition takes place entirely on the MyGov portal and requires users to log in with their registered credentials. Participants face 100 multiple-choice questions and must complete the quiz within 5 minutes. Each person can attempt the quiz only once, using either their registered mobile number or email ID.
The quiz is open to all Indian citizens except employees of the Ministry of Earth Sciences or MyGov, and their immediate family members. Winners will be selected through a randomised automated process from among those who answer all questions correctly within the time limit. The top three randomly selected winners in this category will each receive 10,000 rupees. Everyone who finishes the quiz successfully will receive an instant downloadable certificate of participation.
Prize winners will need to have their MyGov profiles properly updated and complete identity verification before receiving their money.
What This Means for You
If you are interested in testing your knowledge about India’s earth sciences achievements, you can participate for free through MyGov. Beyond the chance to win cash prizes, this is an opportunity to learn about the ministry’s contributions to understanding weather patterns, ocean systems, polar regions and earthquake science. Make sure your MyGov account is current and verified if you hope to claim any prize.
