The National Land Monetisation Corporation (NLMC), a government-owned company under the Ministry of Finance, has announced an online auction of 459 land parcels in Visakhapatnam belonging to Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the entity that runs Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The land covers nearly 93,572 square yards and is spread across two locations in the city. All properties are being sold with clear titles and no legal encumbrances.
What is being auctioned and where
The land portfolio is divided into two main areas:
- HB Colony, Maddilapalem: 456 residential plots meant for middle and lower-income groups, situated in an established neighbourhood with schools, hospitals and other civic facilities. These plots are connected to 24 to 60-foot concrete roads and lie close to National Highway 16.
- Auto Nagar, Gajuwaka: One large commercial parcel of 2,728 square yards in Block 2, suitable for business and logistics use, located half a kilometre from National Highway 16. Additionally, two residential plots are available in Block 3 of the same area.
Individual plot sizes range from approximately 129 square yards to 2,728 square yards.

The e-auction will take place on two dates: October 12, 2026 and October 16, 2026, through the RailTel E-Nivida e-Procurement Platform. Interested buyers must register online, complete know-your-customer (KYC) verification, and deposit an Earnest Money Deposit of ₹2 lakh per plot before the bidding begins.
